We believe in the power of creativity

The Art Factory was created to support and create opportunities for creativity in our community! Everyone is welcome to create, learn, and grow as artists. The Art Factory believes in the power of creativity and art, and that creating without boundaries can help you grow as a person, create joy, and release stress - no matter what your age!

The Art Factory is a mobile art studio bringing art experiences to you! Our classes are held at various locations throughout the Twin Cities, or we can bring classes right to your home or work place. Our mission is to provide fun, accessible access to arts programming in our community, and to empower people to embrace creativity in their lives.

Why a factory? Factories are places where things are made, and the Art Factory brings that art making right to you! Imagine a factory full of art making, color, and fun!  That's what we bring to each class.

Art making should be fun, accessible, and comfortable for everyone. No matter if you are an "Artist with a capital A" or just exploring art making, you should feel comfortable to create, learn, and explore what art making and creativity can bring you! Our classes will inspire, motivate, and encourage you to be the best version of yourself! Our goal is to take the intimidation out of art - skill in art making (or anything!) will never come if you are scared to start.  Experiment. Play! Test.  All ages, all abilities are welcome to join in!

We prioritize process based art - learning through experimentation and exploration of materials. Inspiring creativity is the goal, and a finished product is secondary. No step by step cookie cutter projects here, just fun, engaging, open-ended projects that allow each artist to follow their own creative path!

Join us!

Whether you’re an Artist or just looking to try something new, we aim to provide an fun, supportive environment to grow, learn and connect with other artists.

About Betsey

I have over 20 years experience as a designer, communications professional, and artist. I decided to create the Art Factory after I went back to school to study art and art education and began teaching classes to friends. I realized my passion for sharing my love of all things creative! I live in the Twin Cities, MN with my family, and can often be found at local art stores ogling art supplies!

My passion is creativity. I want to inspire and educate others to pursue creativity and have fun doing it! I love art and making. One constant in my life has been my desire to play, learn, and grow as an artist. I believe in the power of the arts and creativity to bring us together in community and help us grow and learn.

“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.”
-Mary Lou Cook
